Simpatia é Quase Amor was created in Ipanema around 1985 and was named after a character from a book by Aldir Blanc. There are also 2 short stories that tell about the life in the bohemian district of Vila Isabel at the North Side. The party was created by a journalists at a certain club in Ipanema and it has become very popular ever since.
