5 beaches you must visit in Rio!
Rio de Janeiro is worldwide known for its natural beauty: mountains, forest and of course, the classic beautiful beaches, gives colors to the city.
To make your visit in Carnival even better, we made you a list of five beaches every tourist must see!
Between the Babilonia Mountain and the Urca’s Mountain, close to the Sugarloaf, is Praia Vermelha, the favorite spot for lovers of the hawaiian canoe and rowing. This beach is known for its reddish sand and deep and calm sea. It’s called Praia Vermelha – something like the red beach – because when the sunsets its light reflects on the red and pink crystals that are in the sand, turning everything reddish.
The classic Copacabana beach and its colorful sidewalk is an obligatory stop for those who want to swim, walk around or just enjoy the atmosphere of the city. It is one of the favorite beaches of foreign tourists. Close to Copacabana, you can find the Arpoador beach, a spot filled with surfers and people doing stand up paddle. On its rocks that crown one end of the sea, sunbathers and tourists take the opportunity to admire the sunset.
There are also beaches like Joatinga and Grumari that are far away from the South Zone of the city so visitors have to drive to get there but they are so glamorous and far more quiet that goers guarantee: the beauty and calm you find there worth the trip.
